An opportunity for a deeper dive into the history of South Asian classical music and the basic foundations of the ancient art of the ragas, from one of its most dedicated practitioners, Alam Khan. Alam will also talk about his family’s musical history.

Alam Khan is a Professor of Indian Music At Cal Arts in Los Angeles, CA and the senior instructor at the famed Ali Akbar College of Music in San Rafael, CA, the oldest institution of Indian classical music in the United States, founded in 1968 by Alam’s late father, the great musician, Ali Akbar Khan.
