Saami Brothers Rivayati Qawwali Concert at South Asia Institute

  • 1925 South Michigan Ave Chicago, IL 60616 (map)

The Saami Brothers, an acclaimed group of vocalists and humble custodians of the Qawwali and Khayaal traditions of Hazrat Ameer Khusrau and Ustad Taanrus Khan Sahab, are set to grace the stage at the South Asia Institute.

Comprising the four talented sons of the critically acclaimed Maestro Ustad Naseeruddin Saami, the Saami Brothers are proficient in a multitude of Eastern classical genres. They continue the legacy of the Riwayati Qawwali group, a tradition deeply rooted in their heritage.

The Saami Brothers hail from the esteemed Qawal Bachcha Delhi Gharana, a musical lineage that spans over 800 years, tracing back to Saamat Bin Ibrahim, a principal student of Hazrat Ameer Khusrau. This rich musical heritage is evident in their profound mastery and soulful performances.

Join us at the South Asia Institute for the debut performance of the Saami Brothers in our space, where they will enchant our guests with their captivating renditions of Qawwalis and Khayaals. This event promises an unforgettable experience, celebrating the timeless traditions of Eastern classical music.
