Khan has produced considerable amounts of work related to the island of Manora, in the Arabian Sea, the once sought-after picnic spot and a calming reprieve for residents of a bustling metropolis, it is now slowly deteriorating. The island remains a tourist attraction, a destination for non-elite leisure, for the “lower to middle class. Rich people don’t usually go to Manora! In her works Khan highlights the ongoing urban decay on the island and what she regards as a representation of the decline of many other cities in the region.
